Super Nintendo was when third party games started to get really good. Nintendo always made some bangers but the third party NES games aged pretty poorly outside of a couple examples. A lot of third party SNES games are still very playable to this day, especially in comparison to NES and N64 titles where they were just figuring out the new tech they were working with
I never really thought about that, but you are 100% correct. Even compared to something like the GameCube or Wii, the 3rd party SNES library really stands out. Perhaps the only system to have a better one to date is the Switch.
