The semifinals are in the bag and it was definitely closer than I expected! While Debian maintained a solid lead over Arch the entire time, gaining a 57-43% victory over the rolling distro, it was Linux Mint that surprised me the most.
Mint came out of the gate strong with a solid lead over Ubuntu for the first day before Canonical’s baby was able to come back and tie it up in the second. The two went back and forth for a while with Ubuntu eking out a win with only 52% of the vote. That means Mint only lost by 1 vote!
The Finals
And now we come to the final match in the The Retro Millennial’s Year of the Linux Desktop Tournament. It’s father vs son. Two titans of desktop Linux. In one corner, wearing orange and white, we have one of the most dominant distros of the last two decades! In the other, wearing scarlet and black, a legend of the Linux desktop; the sultan of stability, a distro among distros, and the granddaddy of a thousand systems. Ladies and gentlemen, cast your vote for Ubuntu or Debian!
